Implementation of Academic Supervision by the Madrasah Principal in Improving the Quality of Learning at MAS Fajrul Islam Tasikmalaya

This study examines the implementation of academic supervision in improving the quality of learning at MAS Fajrul Islam, Tasikmalaya City. The purpose of the study is to analyze the planning, implementation, and follow-up of academic supervision and its contribution to improving instructional quality. The study employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the principal and teachers, classroom observations, and documentation of supervision programs and instruments. The findings indicate that academic supervision is conducted in a planned and continuous manner through regular scheduling, the use of observation instruments, and the application of collaborative and reflective approaches. The supervision process includes classroom observation, post-observation discussions, constructive feedback, and follow-up activities in the form of mentoring and professional development training. The implementation of academic supervision encourages the improvement of teachers’ professionalism, instructional strategies, and more effective classroom management. This study concludes that systematic and development-oriented academic supervision plays a significant role in improving learning quality in madrasahs and should be supported by strong leadership commitment and a collaborative school culture.
